Jere's pretty flowers
Christy decided to take some shots of Jere's pretty flowers.
This year Christy is only allowed to cut the flowers in the back of the garden. Last year she went a bit crazy and demolished all of the Peonies.
I decided to do something I've never attempted before...a garden. I persuaded Jere to let me sharecrop a plot of dirt in the corner of the yard. I planted some tomatoes, peppers, and some herbs.
As you can see I had to construct a super B.A. rabbit fence to keep our furry friends out of my delicious garden.
Here is a more normal pic. I'm not sure what came over me in that last pose. I call it worshipful poetry in motion. You should see me in Church, I'm a regular holy-roller!
I can't quit you!
After we got back from Spring Break we decided to con the high school students at BCCS into cleaning up around the school. Ha, this community service con is really worth its weight in gold! Here I am walking around like the hoss that I am.
We recently chaperoned and helped put together prom. It was a delightful experience that began with a rather overcooked but delic. meal at Mongolian BBQ. We then went to the prom where Kyle T was already soaked in sweat as he shredded the dance floor... and his dignity.
Graduation soon followed. The highlight of that night wasn't getting through my speech with minimal stumbling and mumbling, but rather the hug line. You see we do this really FUN thing where the graduates walk across the stage, get their diplomas, and then hug each one of the teachers.
Its a painfully slow and awkward experience, where the audience gets to watch each individual embrace. You may think "Hey, that can't be too bad, its kind of cute and sentimental!". Wrong. It's awful. To make matters worse, one of my male students whispered into my ear "I can't quit you!".

Turkey Drumstick...I miss you!
To update our lives...where to begin. Ok, right now I'm listening to a little Sara Brightman, sipping some chai, trying to remember all of the Flight of the Conchord's lyrics to "If You're into It".
It's been some time since I updated, sorry I don't have a good excuse other than I'm inherently lazy.
Some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
These stunning pictures are of our new property that we bought at the beginning of April. It's a development in Byron Center, close to school in a really nice neighborhood. We're excited and will probably begin building our house in the Spring of 2010.
This is a picture of us in Disney World without my turkey drumstick. I look happy on the outside, but on the inside my stomach and I are sobbing.
We decided to go to Hollywood Studios...big mistake. Everyone else vacationing in Florida decided to go that day, so it was unbelievably crowded. I didn't even have the heart to wait in line for a delicious turkey drumstick. So sad.
One thing you probably noticed right away about this picture is the double popped collar. I'm not quite 4 popped collar cool yet, but I'm working on it.
In case you were wondering, here is what 4 popped collars cool looks like.
